Summary of payment, deposit and refund terms for rent-a-car and transfer services booked through the MAXICAR platform.

MAXICAR operates an online booking platform (marketplace) connecting customers with independent car rental and transfer companies in Montenegro. Rental charges, security deposits, damage charges and refunds relating to a rental are set and administered by the rental company supplying the vehicle ("the Rental Company"). MAXICAR collects only the booking amounts stated in the booking confirmation. The terms below are general; the binding terms are those of the Rental Company's own agreement.

Rent-a-car

  • A security deposit is required before vehicle delivery. The amount depends on vehicle category and insurance selection, and is set, collected, held and released by the Rental Company. MAXICAR does not hold or release security deposits.
  • Rental charges must be settled as agreed with the Rental Company.
  • Reservations are generally NON-REFUNDABLE. No-show bookings are fully chargeable. Early return does not automatically entitle the Renter to a refund unless agreed in writing.
  • The Rental Company may retain part or all of the deposit for damages not covered by insurance, traffic fines, missing fuel, cleaning costs, or administrative penalties. Disputes over such deductions must be raised directly with the Rental Company.
  • In case of unjustified payment disputes or chargebacks, MAXICAR and the Rental Company reserve the right to submit the signed rental agreement and supporting documentation to financial institutions, claim administrative, legal and banking costs, and initiate legal proceedings in respect of amounts each has charged.

Transfer services

  • A booking becomes valid only after written confirmation by MAXICAR and full or agreed advance payment.
  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all bookings are NON-REFUNDABLE and no-show bookings are fully chargeable.
  • Price includes transport from agreed pickup to drop-off location only. Additional stops or route deviations may incur extra charges.
